As of 2025, there are over 1,500 domain extensions (also known as Top-Level Domains or TLDs). This includes a mix of traditional and newer extensions:

Categories of Domain Extensions:

1. Generic Top-Level Domains (gTLDs)
   These are the most common and include extensions like .com, .org, .net, .info, and .biz.
   • Example TLDs: .com, .org, .net, .info, .biz
2. Country Code Top-Level Domains (ccTLDs)
   These represent specific countries or territories. Each country has a two-letter TLD.
   • Example TLDs: .us (United States), .uk (United Kingdom), .de (Germany), .ca (Canada), .jp (Japan)
3. New Generic Top-Level Domains (new gTLDs)
   These are more specialized TLDs introduced in recent years, allowing for greater flexibility and creativity in domain names. They often represent industries, interests, or other specific categories.

Growth of TLDs:
